It is convenient if you are looking to see a movie or go to Walmart.
I booked this hotel on-line for the purpose of visiting my daughter at Marist college. I specifically requested hotels in Poughkeepsie after previously staying at one in Fishkill which was 14 miles from the college. Imagine my surprise upon arriving that this hotel was directly across the street from the one we stayed at previously. Very misleading to travelers with a name of Hilton Garden Inn Poughkeepsie/Fishkill. In addition, does not include a free continental breakfast which most area hotels offer. It is an additional $9.95 per person.

The hotel's location is perfect, right off the highway and in between other towns of interest. It was an easy on/off in a quiet area with gas stations and chain restaurants nearby. Additionally, the hotel had high quality free weights and treadmills, which were supplied with headphones. The rooms, while a little old, were extremely clean and very comfortable. The staff provided excellent service and the basic amenities were all there. The breakfast had a great variety for all dietary preferences, including options for vegetarians and vegans. The choices were plentiful and the food was delicious.
All was ok and there is nothing that could be improved.
